The Real Meaning of Christmas

It has been a while since I have posted anything on our blog. Now we have found ourselves smack dab in the Christmas season. Ronny and I took the kids out shopping in Jackson for the evening last saturday. Wow, I haven't seen so many people out shopping in months only where were the lines at checkout? You didn't have to wait anywhere. Best Buy where usually you would stand forever for a cashier had 4 cashiers and no waiting. I could have told you we were in a recession back when it started. I wonder what exactly it takes to enter a depression? You know they really haven't ever explained that one have they. On Google there are 14.2Million people out there that are looking for the same answer. Oh, so I just figured it out. The Great Depression was the longest and worst recession in United States History. I guess this one will be giving it a run for its money.

This Christmas I am thankful for:
My Hubby having employment
My 2 children
A home with heat
Good Food

What more does a body need. This year we are cutting way back on Christmas gifts, food, etc. So far I am loosing weight! This has been a great benefit to the lack of holiday parties and holiday sweets and baking I have been doing. We have also cut back on chips do to the fact that you could buy a decent steak for what a bag of chips will put you back. Chips
I have also become quiet good a coupons and admatching. Who knew you could save so much money. On some trips I have saved as much as $30.00. www.smartsource.com and coupons.com are great places to start plus the sunday paper.

Dakota Grace has her first performance at church on sunday. THe kids are supposed to sing Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas at FUM where she is attending mother's day out. Right now she has a sevier case of tonsilitis, strep throat and a viral rash. It has made her slightly cranky but overall she has still been a very happy girl. Brent, the FNP I was able to take her to yesterday, was awesome! He was trying not to laugh at her and commented about what a happy, good natured child she was. He was able to swab her throat so fast that she didn't even realize what he had done. No gagging or anything!

Brandon is now sleeping in his sissy's room. So I guess it is now their room. They are both adjusting pretty well to it and slept almost 12 hours straight! Yeah! Mommy was so happy to be able to get a few extra winks herself!

We are now looking forward to Miss Jenny's visit on the 21st and 22nd! Our plans are to drag her to church for the christmas festivities and teach her how to Wii!
