Since Ronny's last incident at work everything in our lives has been crazy. Well this summer we ended up having to gut our bathroom instead of building the kids a swing set. Both kids love to swing but our circa 1982 swingset just wasn't cutting it. It would sway as they would swing and they couldn't swing at the same time without bumping into each other.
So about 2 weeks ago our neighbor up the street came back from Iraq. He loves his yard and everything is always just so (very unlike my yard). About a week ago I noticed that he had moved a swing set to the back corner of his property. Knowing him it was like looking at a yard car. So every time I drove to town I would look at that swing set thinking I wonder if they are going to get rid of it because the kids would really love a swing set and we don't have anything for BJ's birthday. So friday I dropped him an email and asked if they were getting rid of it and he said come get hit.
Ronny called to say he was on his way home and was greated with, "hey, we are getting a swing set. stop by roberts and find out what we need to move it." Can't you hear the groans?! At least this time it wasn't hey look what I got out of someone's trash heap or dumpster. So he came home and said it was 16 foot long and we needed a truck and trailer. Uncle Jim provided us with that and so Ronny went down and brought the swing set home. Dakota Grace was fit to be tied. Her Daddy just wasn't getting the slide on fast enough for her. We had to keep her occupied elsewhere until it was safe. Bubba was excited when his swing was installed. He is also trying to crawl up the slide like Dakota Grace does. Makes me nervous watching him because he has absolutely no fear. The slide is so fast that most of the time she flies off and lands on her bottom in the grass. Oh to be young again. She told Ronny that he was too big to slide on her slide with her.
My camera died so I haven't gotten any photos. She did tell Uncle James all about her slide during his sunday afternoon call. We have been talking to Uncle James every sunday afternoon for 8 years and she already knows the routine. Most of the time she thinks the only thing he needs to know is that she loves him.
In other news Ronny is off tuesday/wednesdays for at least this week and maybe next. As soon as they promote someone he is supposed to be back to sunday/mondays off. Tomorrow we are celebrating his birthday with a party so Dakota Grace is going to make him a card and some decorations when she gets home from play day. This could get messy!
